Cobalamin oder Vitamin B12 hat viele lebenswichtige Funktionen im Körper. Es ist an der zellulären Energieproduktion, der DNA-Synthese, der Funktion des Nervensystems, dem Aminosäure- und Lipidstoffwechsel sowie der Produktion roter Blutkörperchen beteiligt. Die Absorption im Ileum erfolgt durch die Bildung eines Komplexes mit dem Intrinsic-Faktor (IF). Es wird jedoch angenommen, dass eine passive Diffusion von Cobalamin auch bei Hunden und Katzen im gesamten Magen-Darm-Trakt erfolgen kann1,2.
COBALIN® ist in einfach zu verabreichenden Kapseln erhältlich, die im Ganzen verabreicht oder über das Essen gestreut werden können. COBALIN® kann wie angegeben langfristig angewendet werden.
