Description
The active ingredients are released from the collar constantly and with a low but sufficient dosage to guarantee the antiparasitic activity. Therefore Seresto can also be used with kittens from 10 weeks of age. Here's how it works:
The active ingredients are stored inside the collar thanks to the innovative polymeric structure and are transferred in a gradual and controlled way to the lipid layer of the skin and hair.
Neutral oils favor the rapid diffusion of active ingredients allowing immediate effectiveness against fleas and only two days after application against ticks.
For 7-8 months the active ingredients continue to distribute from the collar to the lipid layer as needed, ensuring effective protection for the entire duration of the collar.
Seresto is water resistant because the polymer structure retains the active ingredients inside the collar. Even repeated baths do not compromise the effectiveness of Seresto because the active ingredients in the lipid layer of skin and hair are continuously reintegrated after each immersion in water.
Seresto is equipped with an effective release mechanism that prevents the risk of strangulation for cats. In the unlikely event that the cat becomes trapped, the cat's own strength is sufficient to operate a quick release.

Indications for use
For the treatment and prevention of flea infestation (Ctenocephalides felis) for 7-8 months. The effectiveness against fleas begins immediately after the application of the collar. It protects the animal's surroundings from the development of flea larvae for 10 weeks. Seresto can be used as part of a treatment strategy for the control of Flea Allergic Dermatitis (FAD).
The product has a persistent acaricidal (killing) efficacy for 8 months (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus turanicus) and a repellent (anti-feeding) efficacy against tick infestations (Ixodes ricinus). The product is effective against larvae, nymphs and adult ticks. Ticks already present on the cat prior to treatment may not be killed within 48 hours after applying the collar and may remain attached and visible. It is therefore recommended to remove the ticks already present on the cat at the time of application. Prevention of new tick infestations begins within two days after the collar is applied. Ideally, the collar should be applied before the flea or tick season begins.
How to use
Remove the collar from the protective bag just before use.
Unroll the collar and make sure there are no typos of the plastic connectors inside the collar.
Adjust the collar around the pet's neck without tightening too much (as a guide, it should be possible to insert 2 fingers between the collar and the pet's neck).
Slide the excess collar through the loop and cut off any excess of more than 2 cm.
The collar should be worn continuously for a protection period of 8 months and should be removed after the treatment period. Check periodically and adjust the size if necessary, particularly when kittens are growing rapidly.
