EPIGEL is a sterile ophthalmic solution, humectant and lubricant for dogs and cats containing: carboxypolymethylene, thimerosal, sodium hydrate, disodium EDTA and distilled water. Under normal conditions there is a perfect balance between production and elimination of the tear film whose multiple functions are essential for an efficient visual function. The tear film performs a wetting and lubricating function that allows the eyelid to blink as well as protecting the corneal epithelia, maintaining normal hydration. The quantity of the secreted tear film normally ensures a surface of high optical quality to the corneal diopter, allows corneal respiration by favoring atmospheric oxygen / carbon dioxide exchange, removes metabolites, normal cellular debris of desquamation and any foreign bodies. Particular conditions such as high ambient temperature and atmospheric pollution can increase the evaporation rate of the tear film, altering its turnover and causing dry eye conditions. This condition can be aggravated in some breeds due to the particular anatomical structure of the eyeball. The use of Epigel ensures a humectant and lubricating action replacing that of the unavailable tear film. INDICATIONS EPIGEL is indicated in case of dry eyes. Improves and restores the tear film by promoting corneal lubrication. CONTRAINDICATIONS There is no established contraindication, if there are no specific allergies for some component. METHOD OF USE AND DOSAGE Instill one drop in each eye several times a day. If used in combination with eye drops it is advisable to administer at different times to avoid mutual dilutions. PRECAUTIONS Use the product within one month of opening the bottle: do not use any residual product. Do not put the dropper tip in contact with any surface to avoid contaminating the solution. Close the bottle tightly after use and store in a cool, dry place at room temperature.
