The puppy needs time to get used to the new food. To prevent and avoid digestive problems, the change of diet must take place gradually and slowly.
To activate digestion, stimulate the puppy's belly with a soft towel at body temperature. Until the third week of life, puppies are unable to urinate or defecate on their own. It is usually the mother who stimulates digestion by licking the puppy's belly. For this reason it is very important to imitate the behavior of the mother dog after each bottle feeding, to start the digestive process. This behavior prevents possible constipation.
