FRONTPRO 3 CHEWABLE TABLETS FOR DOGS 25-50KG (136MG)

Frontpro 3 chewable tablets 68 mg provides protection against fleas and ticks in dogs 25-50 kg; can be purchased without a veterinary prescription, always referring to the weight range indicated on the package. Frontpro is a tasty chewable tablet to be administered with or without food to obtain protection for up to 30 days, killing fleas before they produce eggs and therefore preventing contamination of the home.

2. COMPOSITION 

Each chewable tablet contains:

Active ingredient: Afoxolaner 136 (mg) 
 

3. PHARMACEUTICAL FORM

Chewable tablets.
Variegated red to reddish brown tablets, rectangular in shape (tablets for dogs weighing 25 to 50 kg) 

4. INDICATIONS

Treatment of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis and C. canis) in dogs for at least 5 weeks. Treatment of tick infestations (Dermacentor reticulatus, Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus) in dogs;one treatment eliminates ticks for up to a month

5. CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to one of the excipients.

6. ADVERSE REACTIONS

Neurological signs (convulsions, ataxia and muscle tremors), pruritus, lethargy, anorexia and mild gastrointestinal disturbances (vomiting, diarrhoea) have been reported very rarely. Most adverse reactions reported were self-limiting and of short duration. The frequency of adverse reactions is defined using the following conventions:

• very common (more than 1 in 10 animals treated displaying adverse reactions)
• common (more than 1 but less than 10 animals in 100 animals treated)
• uncommon (more than 1 but less than 10 animals in 1,000 animals treated)
• rare (more than 1 but less of 10 animals in 10,000 animals treated)
• very rare (less than 1 animal in 10,000 animals treated, including isolated reports

8. DOSAGE AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION

Oral use

Dosage:

1 tablet of 136 mg for dogs weighing 25-50 kg, tablets must not be divided. For dogs weighing more than 50 kg use an appropriate combination of tablets with different/equal dosage, consulting a veterinarian.

Treatment program for flea and tick infestations:

For optimal control of flea and tick infestations, administer the product at monthly intervals during the most seasonal periods based on the local epidemiological situation.

 

9. WARNINGS FOR CORRECT ADMINISTRATION

FRONTPRO tablets are chewable, beef-flavoured and palatable to most dogs; It is possible to administer the tablets with food if the dog does not accept to take them directly.

 

10. SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR STORAGE

Keep out of the reach of children.

Do not administer this veterinary medicinal product after the expiry date stated on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. This veterinary medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions.

Shelf life of the veterinary medicinal product packaged for sale: 3 years

 

11. SPECIAL WARNINGS

To prevent children from accessing the veterinary medicinal product, remove only one tablet at a time from the blister; return the blister with the remaining tablets to the carton. Wash your hands after administering the product.

Consult a veterinarian before treatment during pregnancy and lactation or before use in breeding dogs.

 

12. PRECAUTIONS FOR DISPOSAL OF UNUSED PRODUCT OR ANY WASTE

Any unused veterinary medicinal product or waste materials derived from such products should be disposed of in accordance with local requirements.

Afoxolaner is an insecticide and acaricide belonging to the isoxazoline family.

FRONTPRO is effective against adult fleas and many tick species such as  Dermacentor reticulatus and D. variabilis, Ixodes ricinus and I. scapularis, Rhipicephalus
sanguineus, Amblyomma americanum  and  Haemaphysalis longicornis.

FRONTPRO kills fleas within 8 hours and ticks within 48 hours.

The product kills fleas before they produce eggs, thus preventing contamination of the home.

The chewable tablets are available in the following formats: box containing 1 blister of 1, 3 or 6 chewable tablets. Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
