Prazitel 104 Tablets

PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC CATEGORY:  Antitrematodes, antinematodes, anticestodes. Praziquantel in combination.

COMPOSITION:

Active ingredients:  Praziquantel 50 mg, Pirantel 50 mg (equivalent to 144 mg of pyrantel embonate), Febantel 150 mg.

Excipients:  Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silica, croscarmellose sodium, sodium lauryl sulfate

INDICATIONS:

Treatment of mixed infections caused by nematodes and tapeworms of the following species. NEMATODES. Ascarids: Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonina (adult and immature forms). Hookworms: Uncinaria stenocephala and Ancylostoma caninum (adults). Whipworms: Trichuris vulpis (adults). CESTODES. Tapeworms: Echinococcus spp, (E. granulosus, E. multilocularis), Taenia spp (T. hydatigena, T. pisiformis, T. taeniformis) and Dipylidium caninum (adult and immature forms).

CONTRAINDICATIONS/SIDE EFFECTS:

Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or to one of the excipients.

USO/VIA DI SOMMINISTRAZIONE:

Per uso orale.

POSOLOGIA:

Somministrare solo per via orale. Per i dosaggi attenersi alle seguenti indicazioni: 15mg/kg mg/kg di peso corporeo per il febantel, 5 mg/kg per il pirantel (equivalente a 14.4 mg pyrantel embonato) e 5 mg/kg per il praziquantel equivalente a una (1) compressa per 10 kg di peso corporeo. Le compresse possono essere somministrate direttamente al cane o nascoste nel cibo. Non è necessario un periodo di digiuno, né prima né dopo il trattamento. Se c’è un rischio di reinfestazione, rivolgersi ad un veterinario per richiedere indicazioni sulla necessità e frequenza di altre somministrazioni. Per assicurare il dosaggio corretto, il peso corporeo deve essere determinato nel modo più accurato possibile.

CONSERVAZIONE:

Questo medicinale veterinario non richiede alcuna speciale condizione di conservazione.

AVVERTENZE:

Le pulci sono gli ospiti intermedi di un tipo comune di tenia, denominata Dipylidium caninum . Tapeworm infestation will certainly recur if control measures are not implemented on intermediate hosts, such as fleas, mice, etc. Tapeworm infestation is unlikely in puppies less than 6 weeks old. Resistance of a parasite to a particular class of anthelmintics may develop following frequent, repeated use of an anthelmintic of that class. Overdose: Combined administration of praziquantel, pyrantel embonate and febantel is well tolerated by dogs. INTERACTIONS:

Do not administer piperazine compounds simultaneously as the anthelmintic effects of pyrantel and piperazine may be antagonized. Concomitant use of other cholinergic compounds may cause toxicity.

DIAGNOSIS AND PRESCRIPTION:

Veterinary medicinal product without a veterinary prescription.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING:

It is recommended not to use the product in bitches during the first 4 weeks of pregnancy. Do not exceed the recommended dose when treating pregnant dogs.
