PHARMACEUTICAL FORM: Tablets
USE/ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION:
For oral use.
DOSAGE:
20 mg pyrantel (57.5 mg/kg pyrantel embonate) and 5 mg/kg praziquantel. This is equivalent to 1 tablet per 4 kg of body weight. Administration of a single oral dose. The tablet must be administered directly to the cat, but if necessary it can be hidden in food. In roundworm infestations, especially in kittens, it is possible that elimination is not complete, which is why the risk of infection for humans may persist. Therefore, treatment with a suitable roundworm product should be repeated at 14 day intervals until 2-3 weeks after weaning. To ensure administration at the correct dosage, body weight must be determined as precisely as possible.
STORAGE:
This veterinary medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions.
WARNINGS:
The resistance of the parasite to a certain class of anthelmintics can occur after frequent and repeated use of an anthelmintic belonging to this class. Fleas serve as intermediate hosts for a type of common tapeworm: Dipylidium caninuin. Tapeworm infestation recurs unless intermediate hosts such as fleas, mice, etc. are kept under control. Special precautions for those who administer the product to animals: in the case of accidental ingestion, seek medical advice and show the package leaflet. For good hygiene, people who administer the tablets directly to the cat or who add them to the cat's food should wash their hands after use. Overdose: after administration of dosages exceeding 5 times the recommended dose, signs of intolerance, such as vomiting, have been observed.
