Advantix Pesticide spot on against fleas, ticks and mosquitoes.
Product intended exclusively for dogs.
Do not use on cats!
Advantix not only eliminates fleas and ticks, but also has a repellent effect against ticks, mosquitoes and sand flies: It prevents fleas from biting and thus eliminates them.
Fleas on dogs are killed within one day of treatment.
Imidacloprid, one of the two active ingredients contained in Advantix, is also effective against flea larvae present in the environment surrounding the treated dog.
It repels ticks and kills those that come into contact with the skin, reducing the risk of transmission of diseases such as Borreliosis, Rickettsiosis, Ehrlichiosis.
Repels mosquitoes and sand flies, reducing the risk of transmitting diseases such as leishmaniasis.
It can be used in pregnant and lactating bitches.
It is also effective if the dog gets wet.
Do not use on puppies under 7 weeks of age and the weight indicated for each pack.
How Advantix works:Advantix is a product resulting from the combination of two ingredients: Imidacloprid - known for its rapid action on fleas - and permethrin, a pyrethroid known for its effectiveness.
The two substances, acting together, cause Imidacloprid to increase the effectiveness of permethrin.
The product provides a repellent activity against ticks, sand flies and mosquitoes, thus preventing parasites from biting and thus reducing the risk of transmission of vector-borne dog diseases such as borreliosis, rickettsiosis, ehrlichiosis and leishmaniasis.
In addition, the product provides a repellent activity against horse fly, thus helping the prevention of fly bite dermatitis.
Imidacloprid Imidacloprid is an ectoparasiticide belonging to the class of chloronicotinyl compounds.
Chemically, it can be classified as a chloronicotinylnitroguanidine.
Imidacloprid is effective against adult fleas and the larval stages of fleas.
In addition to the adulticidal efficacy against fleas of Imidacloprid, a larvicidal efficacy in the environment surrounding the treated pet animal has been demonstrated. The larval stages present in the environment surrounding the dog are killed following contact with a treated animal.
Imidacloprid possesses a high affinity for nicotinergic receptors for aceticoline in the post-synaptic region of the central nervous system (CNS) of insects.
The consequent inhibition of cholinergic transmission leads to paralysis and death of the parasite in insects.
Permethrin: Permethrin belongs to the class of pyrethroid acaricides and insecticides type I and also acts as a repellent.
Pyrethroids affect the voltage-gated sodium channels of vertebrates and invertebrates.
Pyrethroids are so-called "open channel blockers" and affect the sodium channel by slowing down both its activation and inactivation properties, thus leading to hyperexcitability and death of the parasite.
Advantix does not replace the preventive treatment of filariasis.
The treatment should be repeated, depending on the parasites, every 2-3-4 weeks.
It is a veterinary medicine: ask your veterinarian for advice.
Read the warnings in the package leaflet carefully.
Keep out of reach of children and use special care until the application site is dry.

Advantix can then be applied as soon as the coat is dry.

However, prolonged and intense exposure to water should be avoided.
In case of frequent exposure to water, the persistence of the effectiveness of the product may be reduced.
In these cases, do not repeat the treatment more frequently than once a week.
Care should be taken to avoid the contents of the pipette coming into contact with the eyes or mouth of treated dogs.
Care should be taken to properly administer the Advantix product as described in the instructions for use.
